Our Story
Snug Plug started in a small two-bedroom house that Co-Founder, Joel was renting in California. He was getting very frustrated with all of the loose outlets in the house, causing plugs to fall out, appliances to not work and electronics to not charge, many of which he needed on a daily basis.
The plugs were so loose they would simply fall out or not even make a solid electrical connection. Despite the fact that he was a seasoned handy man, he was renting and didn’t have permission to change out the electrical receptacles, so he decided to come up with a solution, SNUG PLUG!
Joel has a background in construction and engineering so when faced with this problem he developed a prototype of the Snug Plug which worked from day one! He knew he had something special but he knew bringing it to market was a daunting challenge.

A New Partnership
Realizing its potential, he teamed up with Salim, a co-worker with entrepreneurial experience, to bring it to market. Their shared work ethic—and even the same birthday—made them natural partners
Building The Product
To validate the need, they asked friends, family, and even strangers, quickly confirming that many shared their frustration. Over two years, they refined the design, tested materials, and built a manufacturing plan, leading to the first patented solution for loose outlets.
The Launch
Despite a slow start, Snug Plug quickly gained traction, with nearly a million customers now using the product. Proudly American-made, the brand continues to grow, with plans to launch in retail stores in 2025 and expand into new electrical solutions. Joel and Salim are grateful for the support and honored to provide a simple, effective fix for loose outlets everywhere.
